You will recall in my last entry that I mentioned have a slight change to the foods I eat. Having tried and tested low carbs, gluten free foods I have to say I quite like it. What I have discovered is that it is I am actually full without been completely bloated neither do I feel tired. However, they are both not as low in fat as the experts want us to believe, so I carried on with my usual methods, using low fat ingredients instead of the high fat ones listed. There is one plan that I have followed exclusively and that is the Paleo aka Caveman diet, I like the fact that you can cook simple meals in a matter of minutes.
There is one book that I have been using extensively, it’s the Hairy Biker Dieters. One of my faves is the big soup which has no carbs whatsoever but it is very filling, I was meant to freeze part of it but after tasting it I knew I couldn’t, it was so tasty I ended up pouring some in a bowl before I took it off the burner, lol. The spiced cake as a dessert topped with ( I have it on every pudding as I don’t do cream) custard, was equally good basically there are lots of recipes to suit all palates. I didn’t know there was a part one of the book, I will definitely be getting it but on Kindle because I find it difficult to make paperbacks stay open when cooking, particularly when I am trying to follow each step, what is most annoying is the stains I end up with. In terms of online sites I will highly recommend all receipes.com, for those who prefer e-books you can down apps and books from Amazon well if you have Kindle, not sure about how it works for those with other tablets, I will list all at end for easy reference.
Please note that I am not advocating that you do this long term or even daily, just that it is good to have a mix especially if you are feeling bloated or tired of the same old recipes. I think low carb is a great way to shred the pounds if you have over indulged the day before or whilst on holiday or when you have no time to exercise.
